Winner. Rather than shaping their demonstrably failed ideology to better serve the people, Repubs shape the districts & the electorate instead.

Lets take a look at some districting
Illinois, Mass, Conn

Above are three democratic states that have manipulated districts that far exceed geographical boundaries.

Yet you can look at three other states; Wisconsin, New Jersey, Minn
and see that there is much less manipulation of district boundaries, even in the populated areas.

What I am seeing is a Republican party that has gone crazy.

They are going nuts to try and find as many ways of tearing down any rights they can to keep people from having their votes count, or keep them from the polls.

The Democrats have never done anything on the scale like what we are seeing Republicans doing now.

In the words of an old song "You ain't seen nothing yet".

Corporations are gearing up to spend Billions to make sure the Republicans win in 2016.

Maybe the Florida lawmakers felt the state constitution was outdated and flawed.

Oh, so two amendments passed by the voters in 2010 were "outdated and flawed," so it's just fine to violate the Constitution (doing everything possible to hide the violations) without going through the formal process of changing it?

Yeah, that's sounds totally reasonable.

I love it! It's even better that he doesn't realize it...

:D

So tedious, so predictable in the usual "They're just as bad!" way of the right wing. Florida voters amended the state constitution specifically to deny them such methods, but they used them anyway, attempted to cover their tracks, pretend it never happened.

HA! BUT BUUUUUUUUUSH... is the standard answer when anyone criticizes Obama (Still six and a half years into his Presidency). But, you are right in this instance. Gerrymandering districts has occurred for decades. It needs to stop on both sides.

The difference is nothing in those redistricting efforts were considered unconstitutional or even going over the bounds. As in the case we have before us in Florida. There is a huge difference in redistricting within the bounds of the law and then going outside the bounds of the law.

Realize that voters changing their state constitution does not always make such legal.

And just like Obama likes to do currently; what is written can be interpreted differently; especially where political motives are involved.

Previous presidents have also done so; but seeing you you feel Obama walks on water; this is an example to show that he will ignore laws/change the rules for what he perceives is in HIS best interests, ignoring the intentions of the law as written

What does Obama have to do with this?

and why isn't the vote to change the state constitution legal? Has it been challenged? Is it in the court system? The Supreme Court perhaps?

It's just more false equivalency of duh-version.

Florida Republicans? No, no! Look over here, look at the evil Obama!

What's of interest to me is if/when a Dem president (H. Clinton?) gets to flip the majority of the USSC over to the liberal side, would he/she only nominate candidates that promise to overturn those rulings that give corporations (aka - "a person") an infinitely stronger voice than a 92 year old African American widow who was disenfranchised by "voter rights" laws that the present USSC seems happy to have reviewed and given their blessings on?

edit - Upon reviewing my post I realized I sidetracked the OP. My apologies to you.
