The most recent statewide elections have been for a senate seat, the governorship, and the last presidential election. Democrats won 2 out of 3.

Presidential would be a national election. I wouldn't call it a statewide election because there are far bigger issues involved.

As for elections for state wide positions:
Republicans have won the last 3 governors races.
Republicans have won the last 3 Lieutenant Governors races
Republicans have won the last 2 Attorney General races
Florida CFO has been won by 1 Democrat and 1 Republican since it was created
The two senate seats are split 1 per party

Total:
Of the 5 positions listed above the Republicans have won 3 of the last 5 elections for those seats. And 10 of the last 12 state wide elections.

Bill Nelson is the only Democrat to currently hold a major state wide office, unless you call CFO as 'major' All the others are controlled by Republicans.

Despite all the talk you hear about Florida being a battle ground state it is really a slightly red state. Obama and Clinton in 96 are the only two Democrats to win the state going all the way back to 1980.
Republicans control the house delegation 15-10
And the Republicans control both state bodies.
