Finished putting my new comptuer together and get this error during POST
Floppy Disk(s) Failure (40)
I can get to the bios and change stuff and it recognizes my hard drives and dvd drive and stuff. At first, i thought it might have been giving me an error cuz I don't have an OS installed yet, but it won't even try to load from the cd drive (win xp pro).
Here's some of my system specs:
Asus a7n8x deluxe ver 2.0
Athlon XP 2500+ (even though it started up as a 1100+) <-- another problem
1 gig kingston hyper x pc3200 ram

Please help. Thanks.

That usualy means you pluged in your floppy drive's ribbon cable in backwards. Reverse it and try booting up. For the cpu, in the bios setting make sure you set it to FBS of 133mhz.

Actually you will want to set the FSB at 166, multiplier at 11.

The floppy drive cable has been inserted upside down, just swap it and it should work.

always remember the red line on the ribbon cable will point to the power connector on the drive 100% of the time on the 3 1/2 drives. and 99.995% of the time on 5 1/2 drives(yes there are 2 models that where backwards in this world one is a japanese drive(mitsumi if I remember right), one is an IBM, both where double hight drives)
