Floppy disk - computer shut down question

Hi all

I just removed my floppy from my rig and i get an error when i shut down my comp saying that it do not detect a floppy.

I removed it in the BIOS as a boot device but i still get the error. It do no prevent my computer to shut down but it slow the process quite a bit as i need to wait for the error to appear and press cancel or continue.

It also prevent me from shutting down my comp automatically when i'm not here for whatever reason.

Does anyone know how i can prevent windows from scanning for a floppy when i shut down ? I looked at the windows options but there seem to be nothing (unless i am missing something)

Thanks

Perchance, is the error message created by an antivirus product? If so, configure the product not to check for a floppy drive.

out of curiousity what version windows are you using? I don't remember windows xp checking for floppy disks when shutting down, it seems like it is for some older O/S. But i am not sure, I have not had an internal floppy disk in a while.
