That's fine if you're going for that industrial look from the get go. You can carry that theme throughout the space or accent it.

Looking at Sho'Nuff's space, I don't get that impression. His decision of course...

One thing I should have pointed out earlier is that none of the furniture in that room is going to stay. Its old stuff from a formal living room that we had in a prior house. It will be replaced with proper man cave decor (i.e., strippers and small mountains of blow).

I'm just busting your stones, I think it looks fine. It's a basement, the most important thing is that you have comfortable living space.
