So after using a friend's floor jack, I noticed that mine behaved in a different way. On his, you can pump the jack up and wherever you leave the handle, it will stay in place and will not move when weight is applied.
I have a 3 Ton Craftsman jack that I got from Sears as a Jack/Stand/Creeper set and when I pump mine and put weight on it (jacking up the car or even me standing on it) the bar will move up until it is 90 degrees pointing straight up.
I tried to do the whole air purging maintenance step but still no change. Is this normal for the model or is something wrong? If something is up, does anyone know of a fix?
