I spent the weekend stripping out a house that was under water. The resident lost everything. All we recovered were a couple of boxes of tools and he managed to save his ute.

The area that was hit in Brisbane was a poor suburb. the only money the guy had after the flood was 3 tins of coins, a pile of scrap metal and i doubt he had much in the bank.

I had my mate bring heavy machinery from the coast and we got 4 days work done in a day and a half.

I have been in tears several times over the past 72 hours. Certainly makes me appreciate what it means to have a roof over my head and food in the fridge.

Edit: if people are interested i can post some moar pics

Good on you mate for helping out.

I hope that Queenslanders pull though this quickly, and I wish you guys all the best of luck. I also hope that Suncorp and other Oz insurers don't pull the same stunt as the American insurance companies in the Katrina fiasco.

LOL Wat.

No one is forcing you to move to the flooded area.

You do understand that Australia is a pretty large place right?

You could move to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth etc.
