Floating Point Error ???

😕

I recently installed a new motherboard,ASUS A7A266. Problem is when I run the ASUS probe software it keeps saying floating point error and doesn't give any details. The machine seems to run fine except when I run something demanding it will lock up.

All temps are normal.

Any ideas on where to look first?

Thanks,

float point - math co-processor - 3d functions or SSE/3dnow type of apps... what are u running ? RC5 ?

It would start flashing the message as soon as Windows started. Would stop if I turned off the ASUS probe.

Thinking it was a memory problem I removed each of my memory sticks one at a time with no difference.

I then went back in and turned my virtual memory back on and now it stopped giving me the floating point error.

Kind of odd, I would have thought I would have enough RAM not to have to fiddle with virtual memory. Any ideas on why this would happen?

Thanks,
