Flip smartphone

I have been looking for one for awhile and cannot seem to find any that satisfy my needs. I recently have been using a Motorola MPX220 with cingular. It has all the features I want (a flip smartphone) but it has horrible static problems. I'm currently using a RAZR V3 but the phone book in this SUCKS. I just want a flip smartphone. I don't like candy bar style phones. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm with cingular by the way.

RAZR is definitely not a smartphone.

The P910i is a good phone, and it's both touch screen, and flip (but not completely, only the number pad flips down to reveal a bigger portion of the screen).

There's a new one out though: the P990. I prefer the P910i over the P990 though, because the full screen is still half screen of the P910i.

I know the razr is not a flip phone. I got it for free though so that's what I'm using (BOGO through cingular)

For some reason there seem to be a complete lack of flip smartphones in the US whereas in other countries (china) they are in abundance. My needs are: good quality phone, flip phone, synchronizable address book that stores multiple numbers, email addresses, physical address & notes for each contact that synchs with my outlook.

I use an older phone that is Palm based, but it does exactly what you describe. It's a Samsung i500 with Sprint. Although it has shortcomings I love it.

That ming I'm almost considering. The ONLY downside (other than it being about $600) I see to it is the lack of keypad and you have to enter the numbers on the touch screen

If that I-Mate phone has no bugs and works like it's described, it would be pretty much perfect. Exactly what I'm looking for.

I know! I was going to buy a Samsung slider phone or similar slim phone to use on the weekends instead of my TMobile MDA (which I love, but am afraid of breaking when drunk or doing physical activities), but I think I'm going to wait for this. I'd love to have 75% of the functionality of the MDA in a package the size of a RAZR! 🙂

I hope it comes out soon.

Panasonic X800

I have this phone and it's really good. Only problem is the menu is a little slow in responding. And I am with cingular too, and it works on the network.
