flight simulator 2002....... need some help

Hello there,
I love to fly flight simulator 2002, but one aspect that i could'nt find in the game is how to set the ILS landing system. Sometimes it works automatically and i get the Localizer and the Glideslope needle before take off and landing. But most of the time the ILS system don't work or i guess i can't set it. Please help fellow pilots.
 
I haven't played for a while, so this may be wrong. What I usually do is look up the airport information, then enter the frequency's for the correct runway that I have clearence for into the radio. That will setup the Localizer and Glidescope needles IIRC.
