considering my antenna is not line of sight.

So long as it's vertical and in good view of the sky it should pick up a number of aircraft. The aircraft's antenna is vertical polarized so it's omnidirectional. If I can remember right, they are pumping out about 100 watts.

Wow 100w lol yeah that will do it. I guess they have to if it's omni directional. And yeah mine is vertical too, and my roof is asphalt, so nothing crazy to go through, well snow might add some shielding over the year as it gets higher but not sure how much of a difference it will make. No metal shielding or anything like that. Right now there is maybe a foot of snow if that.

Found the information. This may vary for Canada though, but I'm pretty sure it's the same.

3-8. ADS-B Antenna Interface. The aircraft ADS-B antenna is an important part of the overall
ADS-B Out system because antenna systems are major contributors to the system link
performance. The location and number of antennas required for the airborne ADS-B Out system
is a function of the equipment class of the selected broadcast link (UAT or 1090ES). Single
bottom-mounted antenna (TSO-C166b and TSO-C154c A1S and B1S classes) installations are
allowed. For the UAT link, 16-watts minimum transmit power at the antenna output is required.
For the 1090ES link, 125 watts minimum transmit power at the antenna output is required

Looks like no one in my area is feeding to adsbexchange.com... until now. I think I got it working. I ran the script and planes that I could see locally showed up on the site. When I turned off the script, they vanished. Tried a few times and it really does seem like I'm basically in charge of that section of the map now. :p
