Flickering Issue: HELP!

Hi,

I don't know much about computers at all really.

I recently bought a new computer and am having trouble with monitor flickering.

I have an ATI 5670 videocard (redwood?i believe) and a BENQ 1080p monitor.

I didn't notice the first month or two...but lately i've noticed my monitor seems to flicker. doesn't seem noticeable at all in games....but when browsing the web it can get quite bad.

Sometimes it doesn't seem to flicker at all and then other times it's like a bloody strobe light. And it seems to happen at random times.

I just downloaded catalyst 10.5 driver....i'm not sure if it helped or not. The screen still seems to be flickering slightly....and i got an error message that said: "failure, could not install certain components". But it seemed to load anyways??? And under properties it did say that it's version 10.5......

Anyways....and suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

Is the refresh rate set correctly for your monitor?
Are you using more than one monitor or just the single BenQ?

I'm not sure if you have more than one monitor or not, but I know one of my monitors will flicker out side of games if I have dual monitors enabled and overdrive enabled in CCC.

I have one monitor

and the refresh rate is set correctly.

what is CCC? and what is overdrive? will disabling that help me maybe?
