Flex ATX

Anyone have any good ideas on where to get a cheap Flex ATX mobo w/ integrated audio, sound, LAN?

The reason I ask is I just got a free Tandy 1000 (you know, the kind with the built in keyboard) and am planning on modding it into a celly running at 433 for now.

Which brings me to my last question. Is there any Flex ATX mobos available for Duron's/ T-Birds?

Thanks.

Will you be retro-fitting a new keyboard into this Tandy 1000 (EX?/HX?) I think the tandy keyboards were a bit different than normal PC...not just laid out different but the interface, and some scan codes too. My first 8088 was a 1000SX, damn fine machine in its day!

Yeah, Im thinking about trying to fit in a new keyboard. However, I'll need to find on that does not have a numeric keypad, or it would have to be smaller than normal. It should be a cool project, too bad I won't be able to use the original monitor. If you have any suggestions let me know!

There are many kinds of compact keyboards out there. Finding something that fits exactly would prob be hard tho. You'll likely have to build some kind of spacer to fill the gap, or shave a little plastic if it's too big. Well you're prob gonna be shaving/cutting plastic no matter what now that I think about it.

As nice as those CM-10 and CM-11 monitors were back in the day, they suck ass compared to what's out there now. I wouldn't even want to try to use it.

With all the machines that had a design like this in the past, I'm kinda suprised there's nothing on the market today. Like Amiga 500, Apple II, Laser, Atari, Tandy, etc. Personally I like putting the keyboard on my lap so it never worked for me, but anyways it seems like it would be a good design for a budget home pc.

Good luck and keep us updated! Interesting project.
