I like "Mykonos" a lot. It's like straight out of the 1970s...reminds me of the Doobie Brothers. Don't know what the hell mykonos are...sounds like a foreign candy :p

Also "Blue Ridge Mountains" I like to a lesser extent.

I listened to pretty much all of their other music and didn't like any of it :x - Will keep an ear on em in the future though. First saw them on Letterman or Conan a while back, then they were on SNL this previous weekend.

They're pretty good, I dig them. Reminds me of Wilco + an oceans worth of reverb + more folk influences.

indie sensations at the moment. Great release, lets see if they can keep it up or pull a clap your hands and say yeah.

They definitely have a great sound. Had their songs constantly stuck in my head the past few days.

Thanks for the link - I'm going to check them out further.

While I'm not sure they're referring to it in their song, Mykonos is a Greek island.

Fun band. They sounded surprisingly good on SNL too. Every time a band sounds good on SNL it makes me wonder why 99% of other bands sound like crap on SNL compared to stuff like the Tonight Show.

Listened through the album the whole way through and didn't like very much. Now the new Animal Collective on the other hand

Picked up their EP a while back and thought it was great - picked up the LP pretty soon after it came out and was impressed with that as well.

I can't seem to find that album anywhere yet... was thinking of just buying it online and downloading it. I've heard pretty good things.

I've been spinning this record a lot again because of this thread. I played the grooves out of it when I first got it but got distracted by other stuff.

'He Doesn't Know Why' is probably my favorite cut on the album.

Uh, what? They are only similar in that band members have ugly beards in both bands. I think they are a lot closer to The Decemberists than MMJ.

Yeah, but I like owning the disc.

Anyway, picked it up today and listening to it right now.

I've been playing Blue Ridge Mountains on my guitar all morning, some pretty interesting chord choices in there. Love this tune.

It is quite good. Think one guy on SNL was using a Ukulele or something...but I guess there are guitar parts as well.
