I was going through some old discs when I happened upon Jane's Fleet Command. A quick internet search lead me to the patch (There's a patch for XP, but it works fine on Vista 32.) and the Naval Warfare Project. This mod is up to 19.0 and was just updated in 2008!
I loaded it and realized the time and effort to change the databases was enourmous. The platforms, weapons and countries are now realistic; there's dozens of single-player scenarios; and it's just plain better.
