For those of you interested, Akadot Retail has the FLCL Dvd that just came out for 17.99. That's the cheapest I've found anywhere. Actually it's pretty hard to find.

Also, they have a special combo for 24.99 where you get the dvd and a Kanchi action figure. He's this robot that comes out of the main character's head. That's right OUT of his head. It's a weird series, but pretty cool. From Gainax, they guys that brought you Evangelion.

I've ordered once before and they're service was pretty good. Shipped it pretty fast. No complaints.

I think it's a great deal, but to each his own.

thanks!
i love this show
its wierd, but great. been waiting for the dvds for a long time

edit: doh! only 2 episodes, i guess im gonna have to wait for 2 more freakin discs to come out...
you'd think with only 6 eps they'd put it all onto one disc... id pay more for it than for 3 freakin discs that come out 3 years apart...

Actually, Furi Kuri is the name that fans in the fansubbing world adopted but Tsurumaki-san (director) has stated that he got the name "from a CD in a music magazine with the title Fooly-Cooly" so I think we're both right. But Fooly Cooly is the name the company releasing it in the US decided to use.

There's a interview at http://www.akadot.com/article/article-tsurumaki1.html

I don't know, this is a ok so-so deal at best, cause they charge you around $5 for shipping and handling and there's also tax, making the total to some thing like ~$24. You could get a cheaper deal at http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/?country=usd or http://www.bestprices.com , and at other places like buy, digital eyes , and CD universe too.

AT only 2 eps per DVD makes this even worse. like what Slayer1001 said, they should of put them all in one disc or 2 disc max at 3 eps per disc.

imho, I enjoy the wacky parts and the nice art work but the story is not good at all. This series is a rent before buy for all of you that never saw it before.

hey guys,
i ordered the set with the robot only to get an email saying they were out of those, so then i just got the dvd, i just watched the first episode, and i have to say that it looks very good, i think this is the best quality picture on an anime dvd that i have ever seen... (then again, maybe its just the difference between my new ti4200 and the radeon ddr i took out)

again i wish there were more episodes on this, as its really short, but i cant find fault with the quality of the sound or video (i havent listened to the dub)

and the booklet inside is really cool!, it has alot of manga lookin pages, i havent looked it over throughly yet, but i like it a lot more than the single sheet (w/ ads ) that usually comes in anime dvds.

anyway, i guess im saying, if you like FLCL, this dvd is worth it, i am just hoping they dont release some sort of super set sometime in the future. (but im pretty sure they will - bastards)
