Flat tire, stuck at a pizza joint parking lot

Go get a pizza, and think about where you're gonna buy a plug kit and hand pump so you don't get stuck in parking lots anymore ;^)

Pizza joint is closed sadly, I just pulled up to the parking lot because I didn't want to be stuck in the boonies at the side of the road.

I had my car battery die on a highway at 1am... on a 20F night... in Texas where I don't own clothes to keep warm in such weather. Traffic was really light and I was only seeing a car every 30 minutes. And to top it off, I had no cell phone reception.

It took me about 2 hours to get a truck driver to pull over. He used his radio to contact a state trooper who showed up about an hour later. What an awful night.

That's Texas for you.

i got a flat tire last week at 8:30pm when heading out to go to the office ... it was dark out... it was cold out...
i went back upstairs... picked up the phone... called AAA... and waited 30min for the driver to come.

He pulled up... placed his portable light stand... pulled out his generator powered impact wrench... pulled out his professional jack.... and had the tire changed in about 5 minutes.

it probably woulda taken me longer and i woulda been dirty and freezing and in a bad mood heading to work.

Had a blow out on my way to work one time on my GTO. Got out, scissor jacked it in 15F. Arrived only 8 minutes late to work. (took 15m to change).

That sucks.

Had a flat once, got lucky enough that it was morning on my way to work and a coworker happened to be right behind me. I pulled the car over the side of the road and got in with him and called for a tow truck to get the car and get it to the garage. It was the original tires and they were old so at that point I just got 4 new tires to be on the safe side. Naysayers will always say "change it yourself" but no thanks, I'm not dealing with anything like that when it's -40C. Rather pay somebody to pick it up and they'll do it in a garage. Heck, even if it's only like -10C, that's still cold enough to be handling anything made of metal.

that sucks.

I've got my broke ass 2wd POS parked at the bottom of a 70 degree driveway, covered in ice, in a snowstorm, in Truckee. I barely got up this hill to begin with (retreated once, put on the chains, and whitenuckled my way here)

have to drive it out by Sunday morning. ....we shall see.

That should put an end to any rumors that claim you have a shred of intelligence...😛

OP, your owners manual will show you exactly how to change a tire and how to use your car's jack, I'm sorry to insult you and others in this thread but the reality of it is your a pussy if you can't change a tire and sit for hours and wait for someone else to do it. Yea you pay for AAA but usually only women need a tire changed. So sad, your UN-mechanicial inclination will have you being ass-raped your entire life..

3 options here

1 - You have a spare tire but youre too dumb to replace the flat. Call your mechanic friend or AAA.

2 - You have no spare because you want to save weight. You are a pro mech. Call your friend who is holding your spare to help you out.

3 - You have no idea wtf is going on and you should kill yourself. You are a gay.

You strike me as a 3. Do it. Come on. Do it.

Wishing someone dead and insinuating they are homosexual because they are not changing a tire are completely unacceptable here.

Pretty sure I have a slow water pump leak. Should be about 700 bucks or a whole day of work for me. Yaaaaaaay...

Water pumps sucks. You open the hood and think "this should be easy, it's right *there*". 3 hours later, and half the components removed from the front of the motor... :^D

The only thing worse than a licensed driver who doesn't know how to change a tire, is one that complains on an internet forum about having to wait for someone to come change it for them. Why do people enjoy NOT being self sufficient?
