Flat Speakers

I'm looking for a pair of decent flat surround speakers for my 5.1 home theater system. I want flat speakers so I can mount them on the wall without them looking too large (as per the fiance). Any suggestions?

Forget flats just buy JBL N24's

They come with wall mount brackets

Hmmm, I like those, they're not too thick. The surrounds I have now are 8" front to back.

Sorry, I can't recommend any flat speakers, but the N24 are almost 8" from the wall with the mounting brackets. I have two for my rear surround.

The specs at bestbuy.com say they're only 4 3/4 inches deep. The brackets add another 3 inches?

Yes, if you use the provided brackets, you will have to add another 3 inches. If you just include the speaker then you would use the lower number that you provided. You can also mount these speaker from the bottom on a stand.
