hi, well yesterday, something happened and i dont really know how. my dell computer's monitor just died on me i think. it was working alright for over a year and a half, but until yesterday, the monitor failed to turn on. i was using my computer, and turned the screen off to eat dinner. when i got and turned it on, nothing showed. the green ligt was on, but there was nothing!
afterwards, i just decided to reboot the system, cuz it usually helps with any issues. while rebooting, the screen continually flashes white lines across the entire montior, but never shows anything else. also, the green light flashes, as if its turning on and off repeatedly.
i called dell tech support, and after 30min, got no help from them. i then called pny tech support, as my video card is a pny 6600gt agp. i thought there was something wrong with that. but after 20min, the only solution was to increase my psu wattage to over 450w. i dont kno why, since my computer was runnign fine for four months after gettiing a new video card.
if any of you have encountered this problem and know a solution, itd be greatly appreciated. on a side note, i used my old monitor (crt one) and it also did the exact same thing.
