I equate sunfires with Hummers (vehicle, not the oral pleasure)

Nothing wrong with them, but do you REALLY need them?

i never saw the appeal in $75 flashlights. I'm happy with my $10 ones from walmart. *shrug*

Get that flashlight that you have to stroke up and down for 30 seconds in order to get it to activate.

I would highly reccomend the SF G2, you get the 60 some odd lumens right out of the box with a P60 lamp assy. and can be upgraded to 100 some odd lumens with a $20 P61 lamp assy. You should be able to pick one up for like $25-$30 somewhere online. If you must get it in person go to WallyWorld and pick up a Brinkmann Legend LX, about the same performance for like $20

I have an Inova XO flashlight and it is badass. It costs 1/2 to 1/3 as much as a similar Surefire and it looks more futuristic, rides in the pocket easier, and it's generally highly-rated along with Surefires.

I liked my XO so much that I ordered a T3 for my dad. The T3 uses an LED bulb and puts out almost as much light as the Surefire E2E. It also gets longer output on a set of batteries and you don't have to worry about changing the bulb. I read somewhere that Surefire Xenon bulbs burn out often, though, Surefire LED assemblies are top-notch.

The T3 has a click-style tactical switch that does not need turning like the XO for constant-on. If you don't like the flared part of the T3, go for the T2 which still puts out more light than a 3-D cell Maglite. The T3 approaches a 4-D cell Maglite.

Guy I work with has one. They're ridiculously bright and tough. You can get crown attachments for the front so you can smash someone's face with it.....you know, the next time you and your SWAT buddies do a raid.
