Flashlight that never needs batteries - $5.00 Walgreens

As seen on TV - these are the kind of flashlights that never need batteries. It works on Faraday's principle (i am not being scientific, that is all that I can remember). You shake the flashlight and the LED light will shine brightly.

It's good for emergencies, camping, cars, and so forth. Excellent for the kids this Monday for Trick-or-Treating. Buy a few and keep them around the house/work for safety.

$5.00 at all Walgreens (if they are in your area). Quantities plenty. (may even be cleared out after Oct 31, so you can wait).
 
Word, been looking for a couple of these and there's a brand new one just built next door to CVS. 🙂

Are these the real ones, or do they have little batteries? Anyone tried leaving one on overnight to see if shaking it in the morning produces a beam?
 
these flashlights are really, really weak. I wouldn't send my kinds out trick-or-treating with only these; they're practically worthless unless you're in complete darkness.

Thats what I have heard also. They are pretty much junk and offer no real feasible lighting strength.

Be safe people, dont send your kids out with these things.
 
Great for a guy to pratice doing....um....er.....you know........because you get 10 seconds of light for 2 minutes of whacking it around. You be constatly shaking that thing around for very little bliss. Ha kinda like the real thing too I suppose 😛

Get this one instead.
You crank this one instead of shaking it. This way you can still point the light where you need it and keep cranking. With the shake one while shaking to make any power you cannot keep a fix on the light where you need it. I cannot say this one will allow its light to last longer but atleast you can walk and crank it at the same time and keep the light where you need it keeping the light bright as well.

I ordered one of the cheaper ones before and it wasn't even worth the couple bucks I paid...Mine was probably defective because it would barely hold a decent charge for more than 20 seconds!

I had the same experience with one I got for Xmas last year.
 
costco had some cool crank up charging led ones, but they were $21 for 2... they work pretty good... they may still have them... wind for a minute and they run for 20 mins or so... nice and bright and also blink in white and amber (i guess to use as a road flare)... i got them for my cars...
 
I bought 5 of these light, for 5 buck well worth the money and even a trip out of your way to buy. I have been using one for a few weeks in everyday work and so far so good
 
My Walgreen's didn't seem to have these lights. I hunted around for a while until I found a crank-style light that I thought might be the ones that are mentioned here, but when I got to checkout, the cashier informed me the ones I had found were actually $14.95 each. They seemed like they'd be worth it, but I wasn't ready to plunk down $45 for 3 lights, so I left them there.

Where are you all finding these at Walgreen's? In the Halloween seasonal section? What do they look like?
 
I found these at out local flea market for $2/each. Bought one. Liked it so much that I bought 10 more. In fact, as advertised on the box, 10-30 seconds of shaking gives up to 5 minutes of light. They are about as bright as any single bulb led light I've seen. If you look at the lit bulb it will blind you -- but it's LED, don't you see, so you don't use one to go my excellent compatriot hunting.

I don't know if mine are the same as those being sold on TV or Walgreens. Mine are good for general use around the house and I keep one in each of my cars, on my bike, blah, blah. Better to have one of these when I need light than a regular flash light with dead batteries.

I found mine where they had the halloween stuff. It is in the seasonal area, and they had many. They were in little black boxes.
