I have a Promise Fast Track 2650 that I'm using to run a pair of 15k rpm SAS drives in raid 0. Can I flash the bios on the card without hosing my windows install? I already have Vista Ultimate32 installed, and I'm actually happy with it except for the fact that a cold boot actually takes just shy of 4 minutes. I have a Q6600 g0@ 3.0 and 4 gb of ram on top of the drives I mentioned above, so there's no way it should take anywhere near that long. Its about the same on a reboot and its gotten to the point where I just leave the bloody thing running 24/7 so I don't have to wait for it to boot up. I'm using the original factory bios on the raid card now, and apparently the update is supposed to go a long way towards fixing the slow boot issue. So does anyone know if I can do the update on an existing install, or should I flash then start fresh? Also, does anyone know if you can flash a Promise card from a thumb drive, or are they still floppy only? Their site is worse then useless, and down half the time. Thanks,
Shawn
