First off great forum, been reading here for awhile and built my first three comps with help from all the related threads. I'm building my fourth for my son and giving him my Venice core chip, upgrading mine to the dual core Toledo. I've been told I need to upgrade my bios because of the new chip, I'm using a Fatal1ty SLI MB, does it matter if I do it before or after the upgrade..? I'm installing the new 150 gig Raptor too so it will be a clean install if that has any bearing. Thanks, Ed.
 
Just update your bios to the 2-13-06 the last bios for the board if you are worried about it before you remove your old cpu you should be all set to install the new cpu with no problems
