I've read about people flashing their 9800Pro to 9800XT. I've also read that you can only do this if your board has a certain revision of the chip (was it R360?). My questions are:

Is it worth the upgrade? Will it be any faster?
Is it easiliy done? Can the changes be reverted should something go wrong?
How can I check with graphics chip my 9800 has?

Just get ATItool. It'll check your max OC automatically and give you the info on your card. If you want to check your chip manually, you can freeze your card in the freezer for 10 minutes, remove heatsink and check the chip yourself. Might as well apply some AS5 while you're at it.

do a search to find other threads about this, but
Yes it will be faster than even a 9800 pro overclocked to xt speed.
Easy is relative. if everything works the first try it shouldn't take long. you can always revert the changes unless you fry the chip or overvolt it.
Fastest way is to download the ati tool program and click the dump bios button. it saves the bios as (something).bin in the ati tool program folder. open it with wordpad and it will either say r360 or r350 in one of the top lines.

fist thing to do is make sure your card can overclock to xt speed with atitool. if not forget it. then you should probably get aftermarket cooling for it, unless you have a really cold case temp.

It comes with Omega drivers.
Was thinkingof flushing to XT myself, but I have 350. Need to read more about it.
Check out www.driverheaven.net for more info.
Even if I can't flush to XT, will still overclock once my Arctic VGA silencer gets here. :)
