(Question in bold type near the bottom)

My friend's computer does not work after a bad flash, and I'm trying to restore his BIOS (Asus A7V) by flashing it on my KT7A-RAID mb. I'm NOT going to use the A7V BIOS on my mb, my KT7A-RAID is merly the platform on wich I'll perform the flashing of his (A7V) BIOS chip.
From what I understand the BIOS chips on these two boards are the same size, that is 2Mb. So
theoretically it should be possible to "hot-flash" the A7V BIOS chip on the KT7A-RAID board, only I don't need to hot-flash since I've got a IOSS BIOS Savior.

(For those of you that are unfamilliar with the IOSS BIOS Savior, check out the web site of the manufacturer IOSS for more info.)

However, I have tried numerous times to flash the A7V BIOS chip with both AFLASH and AWDFLASH, but neither work. When trying to run AFLASH I only get this error message: "ERROR! Can't Find System BIOS' Hook", what ever that means. With AWDFLASH everything seems fine to start with, but it hangs right before it usually flashes the BIOS.

Is there a program that will write the BIOS data in the file to the BIOS chip staight up, without asking any qestions?

Some of you are probably going to suggest that I use another A7V MB to do the flashing on, but I don't know anyone that has one. I also know that it is possible to order at new BIOS chip och have this one reprogrammed for a fee, but I'd like to do it myself if possible.

Many TIA!
