FlashFix is the best and easiest program to use in order to overclock your Lite-On (or clone) CDRW. It beats the pants off MTKFLASH. I uded it to turn my 40x burner into a 48x. Took less than 5 minutes. It really is great and I just wanted to share it with you all :)

Thanks! This worked great for me too!

I flashed my Lite-On LTR-40125S (40x) into a Lite-On LTR-48125W (48x).

Used that tool with the latest firmware from Lite-On's site.

So far so good, I burned a copy of Red Hat 8 and used Red Hat's CD tester in the installer and it gave it a pass.

Wobble Wobble, we have the same Lite-On model. I also converted mine to a 48125W w/firmware version VS08. It burns great using Nero, even with Memorex media :)

Actually, if your drive is the 48x12x48x, thats probably it. if your drive is 48x24x48x, I think you can upgrade yours to 52x24x48x via firmware.
