Well, I flashed the BIOS from the ASUS website and now there are strange artifacts (eg. broken bits and pieces of scenery imposed on the background everywhere) whenever I try to play any games.

Is there any way to fix this? (Or is it time for a new card?) :(

I cannot figure what happened, but I overclocked my card and it now appears to behave normally (only faster). I upgraded to the ASUS 3.75 drivers.

Is there any advantage to changing to Nvdia's detonator drivers, or should I leave well enough alone (I won't be able to use the ASUS overclocking tool).

Should be able to reflash the BIOS to the older version off of the original install CD (just make sure that it is the original version and not some beta crap).

A word of advice on BIOS flashes involving any part, it's better not to unless it activates new features that are useful, you're having problems, or it fixes problems that you're actually having.

Good luck.

Thanks, but there isn't any way to reflash the BIOS from the CD - just change the display driver.

Anyway, now that my card is overclocked and everything is working again - I have the latest ASUS drivers 3.75 (from the automatic web update) - is it worthwhile to upgrade to the Nvidia detonator drivers? If so, I will have to find another way to overclock my card (Power Strip?).

I learned the hard way about flashing a BIOS - don't! (unless you have to).
