it's got too many gimmicks to be a serious site... hence the experimentation comment.

One that's readable ;)

In all seriousness, one of the most important lessons of DTP or graphic design work is to use one or two fonts maximum. They must be legible (hey, you want folks to be able to read the information, right?), and uncluttered.

Often, a simple font like Times New Roman or Tahoma is entirely sufficient. Here's an example- go grab a newspaper, and count the number of fonts you find in the editorial parts (not the adverts). I'll wager it's one for headlines, and one for the body text :)
