The 64-bit version of the plugin seems to crash more although it could be EMET messing with it. I guess I don't really care that much since refreshing the page isn't difficult.

I never had a problem with the 32-bit version so I can't comment on it.

It appears Adobe has (intentionally or by accident) fixed the impasse between a full Software Restriction Policy and Flash Player. You can enforce SRP on all files including .DLLs without browser hangs again.

...and there was much rejoicing :D

Not sure but since I've installed this on my main PC, sometimes when I click on a link that opens a new window, the new window will open, fill and then revert to the background placing the original window (that contained the link) back on top. I have removed this version of Flash for now to see if it's what caused this (doesn't happen on any other PC in house and haven't installed this version of Flash on any other PC).

Strange.

Update: I tried to install Firefox 15 but the problem still existed (this was before removing the Flash from the OP). I then removed Flash and installed a previous version. Up to this point (several hours of browsing), the problem has vanished. I'll stay away from that version and see if a later version fixes the issue.

Edit: Didn't fix it. Damnit!

Edit #2: Seems that the Active-X version broke my Internet Explorer. Had to uninstall it to get IE to work again.

What a piece of shit Flash is.

Hmm, it's all good for me here. did you already try uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling it manually again? you may have some other software which is interfering with flash somehow..
but it just could be flash itself. It worked before but this time it wouldn't automatically update to 11.4 from 11.3 and I waited a week so I ended up installing it manually.
Frustrating!!!!

Windows 7 Pro. 64 bit.

I recall that when I was trying to run Flash 11.3 with Firefox12, it caused horrible crashes whenever the flash plugin was called.

I wound up having to downgrade down to Flash 10.3 to fix that.
Have they managed to fix whatever problem it was having with Firefox in this version?

I have not seen any crashes with Flash and Firefox (latest versions of both) on my system. Running XP Pro SP3 with all other updates (32 bit)

Yes, it seems like the problem has been fixed now at least on all the machines that I have seen.

Edit: Found a few posts about this issue.

There is an issue with Flash protected mode and Firefox causing this. So far, the only fix is to edit the Flash cfg file and add "ProtectedMode = 0" to it. No more losing focus on a newly opened window back to the parent window that opened it.
