Flash on Firefox

Alright, this thread has died so I am starting fresh in search of an answer.

Basically what comes down to is, Firefox absolutely refuses to run flash inside a website. I've reinstalled the browser, reinstalled flash, even tried an older version of flash (7) and it still did the same thing.

The AdBlock Obj-Tabs disabling does not have any effect.

I have found that if I open this site, http://www.rh71.com/projects/versiondetect/versiondetect.html it will just show a blank yellow page. In Internet Explorer, it runs fine no problems.

BUT... if I open directly the .swf file from the page at http://www.rh71.com/projects/versiondetect/versiondetect.swf the flash WILL play!

If you can figure out why the heck it isn't playing flash in websites I'll be forever greatful.

Thank you for your time.

Update Adblock to the absolute latest version from the Mozilla Extensions page. When I upgraded Firefox, Adblock said it updated, but did not. I had to manually do it.

Adblock Plus is also supposed to solve the problem from what I recall reading.

There are some old threads here about it, plus more on the Mozilla bugs forums.

Have you tried a clean profile?

Sweet. It was something in the profile. I just deleted everything that wasn't there on a fresh profile and it works now. Thanks tons!

Did you try Adblock Plus? (scroll down just a little bit there until it shows the section on this new version)

Awesome, they fixed object tabs! Thanks.
