oi, im writing a report on flash memory. does anyone know what the difference between MMC multimedia card and SD secure digital is? they both are same size...are they compatible with each other? or are they different?

right now there are 4-5 different types of flash memory

compact flash
smart media
sony memory stick
SD
MMC...

You forgot xD. MMC and SD are usually NOT intercompatible.

SD also supports DRM, write-protection, faster transfer rates, and I/O devices. A device that uses SD can also use MMC for storage, but a MMC device may not necessarily support SD.
