Question Flash drive problem

Okay so, the problem I had was I took a windows 10 bootable usb drive I had and that I used rufus to make. reformatted it to fat32 through command prompt and cleaned it before i did a full format. I wanted to use it to play music off it to my radio and other devices, however nothing would read the mp3 files on there. The only solution I found on youtube was using rufus again to format it with freeDOS and then when I put music on there everything I was wanting to play music on would read it fine. Any ideas what would have caused this problem?

Either format should be readable and playable. now, you mention radio... Assuming in the car? I have a 128gb SD card in my android unit and it works fine. Due to size though I had to get creative on how to format it to fat32 or maybe just let the android format it and then copy the files to it. I think it either used fat or ext for Linux since its android. Try putting it into the radio and see if it prompts to format it.

It works fine now in all my devices after formatting it to freeDOS with Rufus, but before that it didn't work with any method of formatting I tried. Idk if making it a bootable drive had messed the code up on it in some way or not. Don't see how it would though
