Flash Drive Not Recognized?

So I bought a CPU/Motherboard combo from Monarch and they threw in (among other things) a 128Mb flash drive. The manufacturer is Patriot, and it's actually a 128Mb flash card with what they call a "card driver".

Problem is, WindowsXP does not recognize it! I was unable to find any drivers on Google (mostly just references to the Patriot Act) ... but if it requires special drivers, doesn't that defeat the purpose of a flash drive?

Anyone have this product? Any suggestions?
 
your mobo might have bad support/drivers/settings for it or maybe the USB port you tried is bad? try another USB device, try another USB port, check your BIOS for USB settings, check if your mobo has newer drivers... and i guess check for new/older BIOS, maybe a new version broke some USB support or a new one fixed it.

USB drives only need drivers for 98SE, anything higher will install drivers automatically once detected. if all else fails, maybe it's defective and you should bug monarch about a new one.


and for my sake... i hope you're really talking about a USB flash drive.....
 
Ya it's a USB flash drive ... I forgot to mention that I tested the USB ports with another known-good flash drive (16Mb but it works!) and WinXP detected it fine. BIOS was flashed to latest version (1.4) by Monarch.

I'm starting to think maybe it's defective ... probably not worth bugging Monarch about it though. It was just a bonus, after all. Monarch is a 45-minute drive from my apt.
