flash 10 not working with opera 9.64

I was previously using Ubuntu 8.04 and everything was working.
Did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.04.
Installed opera 9.64 build 2480. Installed flash 10,0,22,87.
Flash works in FF.
Flash does not work in Opera. There's a white box where the video should be on youtube. When i went to the adobe flash test page, it tells me i'm missing the plugin.

My opera😛lugins page sees the flash plugin.

/usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so

Plugin options only detected one flash plugin, at the path listed above. i've tried reinstalling opera and flash and changing the plugin path and using symlinks. no other flash plugin is installed.

32 bit Ubuntu, 32 bit flash plugin.

Why is it working fine for FF but not for Opera?
ubuntuforums and opera forums have been unsucessful so far.

when running opera from a terminal, i get

Not GTK2 toolkit (got 0).

whenever i try to load a page with flash content.

a quick search suggests that with flash 10, Adobe forced the browser to use GTK window and containers to load a swf file in Linux. still cant find a solution though.🙁

I ended up going with Opera 10 beta because I couldnt find a solution. Flash works in Opera 10 beta w/o a problem

Just last night I installed Opera 9.64 and Flash 10 on my Ubuntu desktop. I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 x64 though so I don't know if it's because t's 64bit that it worked. Here are the two guides I used to install both:

I tested it with a couple video sites and it was fine.

NOTE: You will not want to use those exact guides because that script is written for x64.

I just pointed my Opera flash plugin to the FF one and it worked fine.

And Opera 10 Beta > 9.64
