Anyone know about the driver and support for the V5? considering 3dfx is gone... any ideas if they'll still have updates and what not?

Hahaha! I own j00 anandtech!!!1

Driver support is going to be phased out so collect all the updates you can. I believe they will release one more set of drivers and then its dead.

Well, I was joking in that thread. My nick got banned for it. Nice consequence, but I broke the rule.

This thread on the other hand is legit. Its all worked out. It is now at collect order stage.

I would hold off on this deal according to the last update on that thread.

There are like 2400 thread views over there! Not a chance he can get all those cards.

If anyone is interested, saw this on voodooextreme.com today:
Future 3dfx drivers? 3:36 PM (your time) - Billy "Wicked" Wilson - Hardware: 3dfx - (20)
A manly rogering goes out to Ethan for sending us an email reply that he received from 3dfx regarding the chance whether or not we will ever see another public version of the drivers for their video cards. With their recent sell-out to nVidia, many were wondering what the future will bring for 3dfx drivers. Dig it (nothing solid, but at least _something_ on their drivers, which has been quite a concern):

Current 3dfx tech support will remain in tact until 2/12. After that date, we are exploring other options for support including outsourcing, this includes driver releases. Until further information is stated at 3dfx.com as to the company's future we will not have the answers to any other questions.

Thanks for Contacting 3dfx

why would anybody need support? by the time the developers stop coding for the chipset and switch, it will be outdated THEN anyway.
i'm still waitng on the 5500 pci for a $100 (bb just gave them the boot) because i don't wanna update my processor and i like the games i have right now
