Gepost--

Don't know for sure about the speed on the USB drive . . . my understanding of floppies is that the bottleneck is the actual reading/writing on the disk, so the drive interface to the computer doesn't really matter. And yeah I agree, they should have included it with the package, but hey it is still only $4.98 after rebate baby!

Looking forward to hopefully some positive statements tomorrow regarding the extra $150 rebate!

Back to studying for the boards (USMLE II) . . . blah . . .

OK, the $150 staples MIR is now showing on the staples website. It states "$150 Rebate on Any Desktop and Monitor PC Package or Any Notebook PC (Excludes Build To Order)". Valid dates are 10/13 - 10/19.

I might not have to travel to Columbus tomorrow and just do the return/rebuy at a local store. Does anyone know if the online rebate form can be used for in-store purchases?

I just want to point out that if you are really looking for a notebook computer, go to your Staples store and see what they have. The two I have been in have had a number of clearance notebooks about $700-800, and with a coupon and the Staples $150 off, these are some great deals. Maybe they don't have the specs of this HP1210 and maybe they don't have the $100 rebate from HP, but for abound $600 after rebate, you could have a decent laptop. YMMV

I just wanted to let everyone know how grateful I am that you guys find and put these HOT DEALS together. I am a college student and didn't have much money but with the clearance, and the two rebates, this is going to be one kick butt computer. Kudos to you all that played part in this. THANKS!!

I guess I am getting a little paranoid, but what will happen to that $50 off coupon that I used that expired yesterday when I return/rebuy today?

Just went and did my return re-buy. They had no problem with it. The return reason they used was code 4 and the register prints out both rebates for HP($100) and Staples ($150). So, the bottom line on this deal is $526.92 in NC, it will vary depending on state tax. YOU GUYS ROCK! Thanks for the HOT DEAL!

What coupon did you use? The one I used doesn't expire until 10/15/2002 (tuesday).

Anyone from a store NOT advertising the $150 staples MIR try this yet. I anxious to see if both the $100 and $150 rebate will print out.

2 rebate questions for you here

1. Did anyone else notice that the $100 rebate that printed out from the cash register says: "Purchase either HP ZE1201 (SKU 492604), HP ZE1202 (492605) or HP ZE1230 (SKU 492707) Notebook PC between......" There is no mention of the HP Pavilion ZE1210 (492780) on the form.

2. Both the HP and Staples Rebates require the original UPC. The floppy drive offer will accept a copy. Who gets originals and who gets copies?

Thanks for you help and finding this great deal.

Woooohoooo! Typing this on my new ZE1210 via wireless Lynksys, it rocks!!

I used the printable $50 off $300 coupon yesterday.

I also noticed that the HP rebate doesn't mention the ze1210, but you can get a rebate form from HP that does mention it.

I also don't know who to send the original and copied UPC labels too. But it doesn't seem like they would have printed both out for you at the register if you couldn't use both rebates correct?

I am really loving this computer. Thanks again!!

Has anyone found any of these machines at all on Long Island? All NY stores don't stock laptops any more...so it's all hit or miss
with what they have left...

Just to let you know, I called two staples stores in the atlanta ga. area last night [10-12-02] and they told me they were out of stock on this laptop and one sales clerk stated she was checking the other area stores and they were also out of stock, also stated the only stores showing any in stock were out west. [west coast]
well at noon i went to the mcdonough ga. staples and they had one left still unopened in the box. i bought it!
so don't give up, try going to the store and have them check stock on hand!
GOOD LUCK!

It worked! :) I just went to my local staples (not the one where I bought it) and returned it and re-rang it . . . and it printed BOTH rebates ($100 and $150).

HP ZE1210 = $779.50 clearance - $50 coupon + $32.83 tax - $100 MIR - $150 MIR = $512.33

Floppy = $49.99 + 4.99 Shipping - $50 MIR = $4.98

I just got back with mine too! Both rebates printed fine and I used the $50 off coupon. I actually got the manager to hold it for me until today so I didn't have to return then re-buy. The manager there told me that the original upc should go to hp, and staples needs a copy. I don't know if this is right but thats what he told me. Thanks again for the deal!!

I decided to wait until after the Packer game to go to Staples. From my lurking here in the past I believe Staples will accept copies of the UPCs. The have to because they
advertise laptops in the add this week showing both the HP and Staples rebate.

Plus dont worry about the HP rebate form. If you buy one of the laptops the form is in the box. Its also online at Hp I believe and is linked in this thread.

--I did the same thing. When I went to pick up the laptop in RI at noon (when they opened) the manager told me he had gotten 3 calls from Staples stores in MA(they opened at 10) before he even opened. He didn't realize the big deal until the cash register started spitting rebate stuff out :)

Thanks Folks

LOL, I also waited for the Packer game to start and went in and had the purchase date changed. Alot quieter in stores in Wisconsin when the Packers are playing.

Also, for those ordering the floppy with the rebate. Get it cheaper!!!! open your new computer and there should be a 10% off coupon in it for HP accessories. We just opened it and saw the coupon, but I already ordered the floppy.:(

So look for the coupon, then order the floppy.

BTW, Packers are whipping New Englands @ss.
