repost AGAIN?

Seriously, just do a simple search. Save everybody some time. Bump the original threads if you like. Searching is easy. C'mon everybody's doing it.😉

<< dat deal states the deal to be @ $660, my deal is $525! BIG DIFFERENCE! >>

except that if you read the thread, the second post and most of the subsequent discussion is on the $525 price

nevermind, I'll stop thread-stalking you for tonight 😉

and then somebody is gonna come along and say they can build a faster comparable computer for cheaper (that somebody is me)

cost of equivalent parts comes to about $350 not includuing keyboard/mouse.

Keep in mind Dell will almost certainly pricematch this quote and give you a system with these specs or better for those of you that would rather own a Dell. For example the equivalent Dell system will have 4 PCI slots instead of 3. Only three slots is a pretty big limitation if you want to add PCI cards.

Also, for $645 ($120 more) you can upgrade the RAM to 256 and hard drive to 40 GB.

Quote: 444703 - Good through 3/26/02

You do not want to run XP with 128 megs.

Dell actually had a similiar but better deal a few days ago, you just have to keep an eye out for them. (Or call them up.)

Sorry! The quote number you entered has expired or does not exist.

too bad, nice deal. i dont' know if you can built a new quote w/ same specs. for same price?

You can get the configuration price down to $576 then add $49 for shipping ($625) and then subtract $100 (for those that can use the coupon) and voila'! You get $525...

XFreebie, I'll bite. How about a quick list of the components and the best prices, then? This is an area of interest for me, as the best I can do consistently is come in around $450 or $500. Keep in mind that this system includes an OS.

I recently bought this very same setup for my dad (although mine came to $625 shipped after the $100 coupon). I couldn't do enough better buying components that it was worth it. So, list 'em if you got 'em. I'd be very interested....

Total $around 900 bucks shipped!

I am building this for a friend. Wanted a medium range upgradable system.

When you buy your own parts you get to choose your hardware. Gateway will not give you a 300Watt P/S. Of course the 525 system is a low end. But does come with the bonus XP, But more then likly you'd probably want the PRO over the Home Edition. Then again, you won't be getting a plextor or an 80 133ATA Gig drive in a gateway or a dell. Unless you ask for it. And should I point out. The Motherboard in a gateway is *WHOKNOWS* brand and the chip will not be a 1.X (A) clockable version.

I didn't get the cheapest parts since most of the parts I got were from NEW EGG... And since he wanted this kind of fast I just threw it together with out trying to get the best deal.

Would be cool if others posted there deals!
