Just got back from CC on 1960 and 249 in Houston. I was able to get 4 games - Enter the Matrix, Hitman 2, PGR, and Wolfenstein. Had no trouble at all and the cashier rung it up as if it was nothing. I wasn't able to find Baldurs Gate, which I really wanted, and the Tom Clancy Classic Trilogy was 39.99 so it wasn't part of the promotion. It's like buy 1 get 3 free which is a pretty good deal. Thanks OP.

Anybody here try the 'EVERETT MALL' store in WA yet?!?!?

The Lynnwood store still had the deal at 2:30pm. The cashiers had no clue (about the deal). I tested it by buying 2 games, put them in my car and then went back in and got 4 more (from a different cashier of course). Not one word mentioned about the great deal and I was on my way.

Right on! I appreciate you letting me know.
I may give it a try on my way home from work.

Is there anyway to know if they will give you the deal or not short of going to the register to buy the games?

no, youve gotta actually go to the cashier and have it rung up. My cashier had to ring up 4 separate games for no reason (because i was checking if they were part of the deal). Wish I had bought more now, only got 4 games-but I'm not complaining. Thanks to the person who initially found this:p

As of about 2 pm, the Symrna, GA store was a success. However, it did look like the store had pretty much been rampaged and not much variety was left for the Xbox games. I did see a bigger variety of the PS2 games.

Just grab some of the XBox or PS2 $19.99 games and buy them. If they don't ring up at $4.99 each then just return them in a couple of days. No big deal as long as you don't open them and have a receipt.

Deal was dead in FL about 4pm ET. When I got to the register, the cashier manually inputed the price of 14.99 each.

Looks like I'll be returning them tomorrow.

deal still works in Seattle, WA, but now only the $19.99 greatest hits. brought a friend there and he didn't get anything even priced at $4.99, he said none of the games were convincing enough for him to shell out.

i tried Batman 2 for PS2 at $19.99, it didn't work, instead it rang up to be $9.99, strange.

well, i'm still glad i got Guity Gear X2 ($19.99) and Tenchu: RFD ($29.99) for $4.99 each. maybe they WERE priced at $19.99 in the system that's why it worked.

btw, the cashier said he read an email this morning about the glitch but he said "heck, i don't paid enough to care about it", lol ^^

it's entirely possible that Batman actually IS $10. As a veteran of 3 years at my CC i can tell you that when a price drop occurs, we aren't exactly swift on our feet about it. The computer will say we have 3 of them, i find 2...so i change the sticker on 2 of them.

I'd like to remind everybody that the Sega Sports ESPN 2k5 games are $20 games and therefore $5 :D

Glad everybody is enjoying themselves. I had to be real sneaky about it, cause my manager actually told me specifically that I COULD NOT ring up the games at that price.

I went yesterday to the Culver City store (SoCal). No go. the games rang up at $19.99. Cashier then manually changed them to $15 each. I grabbed Soul Calibur II and Super Monkey Ball anyway (GC).

any success today?

nutbucket: sounds like you were unlucky and picked a cashier who reads their email before work

mine originally came up regular price yesterday, then I said "I thought there was a discount..." the cashier flipped through the flyer --i assume for a code-- and then re-rang my stuff for $4.99 ea.

According to posts on Fatwallet, this deal is officially dead and has been fixed systemwide. There has been a lot more activity on Fatwallet for this thread, probably because of the huge following created by "undefined"s experience at CC. Go read it on FW's thread . It's the 3rd post from the top. Very interesting....

wow... good story.
Something about it reminds me about how irritated I get when employees stop customers on their way out of a store to check their receipt.
I know it's totally different from the story above, but it still reminds me of it.

Cliff notes for those thinking about clicking the link: customer buys games at $5; manager prevents customer from leaving, eventually using force and grabbing the items; customers wife grabs cell phone to either call police or lawyer; manager yells at them to get out (with product); customer contacts police.... FW'ers anxiously wait to hear outcome.
