It says that the interface type is IDE. Does this mean that you need to install it as an IDE device? Am I missing something on its portability?

Thanks.

staples has the external one for 39, so the internal one should be cheaper, right? hrm... probably doesn't retail for 99 bucks. =T

btw, it isn't that hot at all IMHO. On uPig, the auction site, there is always Iomega Clik available for $19.99 and people not even rush to bid.

For everyone who missed the original link...

This is for a laptop. If you don't have one, don't buy this
It can be used with the desktop, but you need the above mentioned reader.
Some digital camera's use it, but they're scarce Agfa makes one, thats the only one I know of). Unless you have one, or have a HipZip (same media), this isn't really a good deal. I'm going with compact flash myself. Someone stated it was faster, I can't verify that.
Buy.com must have a lot, cause they keep restocking them.
The resale value on these is going to be low, so if you buy them to egay, expect a large influx into the egay marketplace.

It's only 40 MB.. Who needs it!
I'm sure all of you already have a CDRW for "large" storage and a Zip drive for "small" storage.. I don't even know why they made this drive at all.

I just called CS and they said that the drive DOES NOT come with the 40MB disk. It is only the reader. Also they said that it Does support Windows NT. The disks don't look all that cheap either!

Bought one of these yesterday for $19.95 at Microcenter. Actually cheaper then the Buy.com price when you consider the shipping and tax. Mine did come with one click disc.

since this is a pcmcia card....I think it will work with the slot that is on the Epson 875DC printer. Use that to transfer the files instead of buying a separate reader. Nicez.
