Nice deal, this need to be seen. I am going to get my friend to buy one, since I already have a Xbox. In that way we can share the games. Now thats a way to save money and have fun at the same time. Also solves the problem with having to buy multiple system.
I assume that you had already updated your first post to reflect all your coupons/rebates/discounts? BTW would I have to use the target card to purchase the thing? Or can I use my friends 5% amex cash rebate card to purchase this hot deal?

No, they will sell you the game for $20 if you buy a GCN (no gift cards). And that $20 gift card promo was in last weeks ad, so good luck trying to get it ... but it can't hurt to try (afaik that promo is over though).

The $20 GC is still valid as of today, asked the clerk. Went to Target at 5:30 and they still did not have any Metroids. Three platnium GameCubes though.
What's so special about the Platinum...is it just a different color? Does it come with newer firmware or accessories?
Same as the others, just different color case ... the controller that comes with it is also a Platinum color as well.

You cannot get the $20 GC with any of the bundles so I guess you better go for the platnium, tried to get the Game Cube today and they won't sell Metroid until tommorrow at 8 am.

chrisjor: At my target the managers need to meet a quota of target cards and they get money in their 549 plan or whatever if they do. Anyway, I would assume if your credit is good you can sign up for another (I don't know if they check if you've signed up before). Also, unless you get a mean cashier, if the coupon looks like an item you have, we don't care if it's expired or not even the exact item we'll take it if it's only for 5 or so bucks (at least that's how it works where I work).
I just went to target today to check out this deal and inquired about the $20 giftcard with purchanse of a gamecube. They told me that it was last weeks special, this weeks special is a free bag when you buy a ps2 or something. So in other words I don't think it will work anymore.
I just went to Target.com and dropped Metroid and a GC into shopping cart...came up as $199. I wonder if this will work online starting tomorrow? You get 10% off instantly online if you apply on website..as well as another 10% in store after you receive card.
I don't think it will work online, when I asked about the $20 metroid the guy gave me a $30 off metroid prime w/ purchase of a game cube coupon.

If you have a wife you might be able to open one in her name .. that's all I know of. I don't think the system will allow you to apply for a 2nd card, ask when you get there though ... I don't know all of the details. And no other cupons I'm aware of.
Heh, my boss told me it was okay to accept the bundle last week w/ the $20 GC ... though I was pretty sure that deal expired last week like I said earlier anyway.
I know the cupon for the free $20 GC WILL work if you can get someone to give it to you, but that's a big YMMV (One of my coworkers did that Sunday by mistake, so I know the cupon's still in the system).

I just got back from Target. No go on the $20 gift card. She did let me buy the Console tonight, and said I could come back tomorrow (but call and verify they had MP and have them hold one) with my receipt and they will sell me Metroid for $19.99. They said it was because they couldn't guarantee they'd actually have it tomorrow. As she puts it, "Nintendo tells us we'll have it by tomorrow, but we can't call Fedex and verify it. And it has happened before where we haven't gotten the said item by the specified date."
I was also able to grab NBA Street for $9.98. They had several copies left. This was at the Lynnwood Washington Target (1 of 4 in state with a Pharmacy)
So, I paid:
$149.00 - Console (Platinum)
$9.98 - NBS Street
