I have a stick of Crucial DDR 256 that I am running at default setting on a MSI Pro2 board. It is the only stick in the system and the behavior happens at any of the slots. PS is a Enermax 350 on a moderately configured system. It will be running at 256 and all of a sudden the system reboots and the memory is now seen as 128. I ran docmemory at Crucials instructions and it says no problems but it reports the stick at 128. I just received another stick to build my son a computer an have not switched it out to see if it makes a difference.

Any body seen this type of behavior before?

Never have before. I am sure crucial will replace the ram without to much hassle if it is bad. Test with the new stick to be sure it isnt something else.

Just finished talking to crucial and they are RMAing the unit. They are starting to see this with just the 256 version. They don't know at this point what the problem is but they are collecting the modules showing this behavior and doing extensive testing. As always they were easy to deal with an very helpful which is why I buy from them in the first place.
