While this story may not be representative of all abortionists, neverteheless it indicates a callous disregard for human life, IMO that is enhanced by the idea that abortion is an acceptable alternative for one who does not want a child.

So far, no charges have been brought, though an investigation is underway. But if the allegations are correct, I hope murder charges are filed.

"Pro-choicers" always are on a thin line of morality in this. In the case of a 23 week abortion, considering kids are viable all the time at 24 or 25 even if it had not been delivered live any difference between an abortion at that point and live thrown in a garbage bag is minutiae even a lying politician would blush at trying to sell.

This is one reason why every state should have a safe haven law for at least babies.

They could have taken the baby and dropped it off at a hospital and been done with it.

Most states have safe haven laws. However what many states lack is a law defining it is murder if a botched abortion results in a live birth.

Exactly. That child born live regardless of your views on abortion must be protected. If there were such a law in place, then there would be little question of murder charges being filed.

I don't see how this is murder when what the doctor was going to do, had he been on time, would not have been murder.

This shouldn't be called a 'botched abortion' though.

The baby was born alive BEFORE they tried an abortion.

Per se Manslaughter - the baby was born, which makes it a person in legal sense.

It wasn't viable. I guess all those mothers who have miscarriages are guilty of manslaughter, flushing their "babies" down the toilet and all.

Really? You are going to try and defend what this guy did?
A lot of people arent viable, even as adults. Should be toss them into the trash as well?

How the hell do you know that? There are documetned cases where children younger than 23 weeks have survived. How callous. How uncaring. How despicable the lack of regard for human life. That child by all accounts was breathing. And was allowed to bleed out and die. Pure evil is all this is.

I am sure you will feel that way when someone you love develops cancer or another life threatening illness. Instead of offering them treatment and trying to save their lives just throw them in a bag and let them die.

I defend what this guy did. How's it any worse than vacuuming the baby/eviscerating it?

Of course on a moral ground you are correct. However not everybody holds the same moral code or see's abortion for what you or I do. From a legal standpoint when a baby is delivered it is protected under our law and afforded constitutional as well as human rights. Dropping it on the floor and letting it bleed out violates both.

Huh, when did start becoming such an advocate of universal health care?

Then I question the basis of such a law. It seems foolish to arbitrarily grant rights to a human in one instant but not the instant prior to it, when nothing about the child has changed.

Is there any medical/scientific basis to that assertion? Many arguments pro-abortionists make would vindicate this type of behavior.

How does this apply to UHC?

Against the mom, maybe.

His mistake was not killing the fetus first before it exited the mother's body.

Any women here want to chime in?
