What kind of real world performance does this get you?
 
Oh my... 17%??? Someone really should do some real world app tests with this DOS compatibility thing disabled. Maybe the P4 is more powerful than everyone first thought 😀
 
Just FYI - on the i850 (at least the reference board), this option is disabled by default anyway.

Re: performance &amp; p4 ... let's wait until SSE2 truly comes to use - then it'll blitz away &amp; shine nicely 🙂.
