It's going to be Democrats, not Republicans who will fix the AMT. Republicans had ample opportunity to do so, but instead simply demagogued the issue to death, because they want to keep AMT around as an issue.

Good, now more on fixing, less on making excuses and playing the victim card.

Need a Democrat president. Bush is not interested in fixing AMT. If he was, he would have fixed it by now, since he had at least 4 years of a GOP Congress to do it with.

Fixing the AMT problem

What's there to fix for the Democrats? The idea of the AMT was their idea in the first place, and they get a vicarious thrill out of socking it to the "rich" with high taxes, so they ought to be willing to eat their own cooking and pay up. If anything, I think Congress should raise the AMT rate so that the urbanites and blue staters have to pay even more.

Urbanites and blue states already support the flyover Republican leeches. Just look at which states are on the receiving end of tax dollars, and which pay more in taxes than they pay in.

I see you failed on your first assignment.

More on fixing, less on excuses and playing the victim card.

To fix things you need the right tools, in this case, presidency and congress.
Republicans couldn't fix AMT even when they had those tools, so the only hope of an AMT fix is a Democrat president with a Democrat Congress.
