A lot of the people who have computer problems download music and visit unsafe website or do not carry legal versions or software titles. If it's not legit, and you are helping them install copyrighted software without the consent of the EULA, your name could go public and you could end up losing more money than you tried to earn.

then just dont help them install illegal software.

thats their problem.

I do it on referrals and get several a week. Of course, it has taken a while to have that many people calling. The problem is now, I don't have time to deal with everyone. It's supposed to be a thing on the side specifically because I don't have time for a regular job.

If you really now what you're doing, you shouldn't have many problems. I suggest making up a cd or two with all the random crap you could possibly need--I actually have more of a binder full.

BTW, $20 a pop really isn't much, especially if you are making a house call. Remeber what these people have to pay with geeksquad, it's like $60 or $80 to start with on carry-ins.
