I have an iPad 2 which is still working fine, but I've noticed the edge started to lift up. So I pressed it down a few times and then held it there, and it's stuck back down again for now.
However, I'm thinking if it starts to lift up again, maybe it can be fixed. Does Apple actually do this? I know for defective batteries they'll replace an iPad for CAD$109, but do they do replacements or fixes for other models that are out of warranty and discontinued? If Apple did replace it for a fee, what model would they provide? I would assume it'd be another iPad 2 since they still sell refurbished ones at the Apple Store.
I note they replaced my discontinued iMac 27" 2009 with an iMac 27" 2010, but that was a different scenario since it was in-warranty and the 2009 was completely borked. In this case, the iPad 2 has long since been out of warranty, and still works fine, aside from the edge lifting up.
