FIXED

NFS4

I have an Altec 251 5.1 speaker setup and was using it fine with my onboard sound. Well, I plugged in an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum that I got from CC and it's only detecting it as two stereo desktop speakers? WTF.

It doesn't give me any speaker profiles when I go to speaker settings. The pull down list is BLANK. I have it set to 5.1 in Windows audio properties, but this sh!tty ass creative software ain't worth a damn.

I loaded the latest drivers from the website. What can I do??

On a side note, it keeps adding echos and crap to my sounds and I didn't even tell it to do so!!:|:|

ANd yes, everything is plugged in correctly

How do I select a speaker configuration?
In Creative Surround Mixer, click the Speaker button.

In Creative Speaker Settings, click the Speaker Selection tab.

Select your speaker configuration from the Speaker/Headphone Selection option.

Click the Surround Mixer button.
You can now adjust your speaker's output in Creative Surround Mixer.

Just found that in the help file 🙂. I didn't even know mine was misconfigured, thanks for the heads-up.

EDIT: For the goofy sounds, try to go into the EAX console and disable the audio effects.

You are connecting into the correct outputs aren't you?

First your Scard won't detect your speakers, it rather hopes you have them plugged in correctly (IIRC the Bass goes on the digital jack?) anyway, It's up to you to tell the soundcard what outputs to send the sounds to and if they are plugged in they should work.

Speakers are not plug and play, they are more sorta suck and play, whereas Microphones are sorta push and play.... err, I'll get me coat

OK just seen the pop/click bit Doh!

Sounds like an IRQ problem.

Turn off PC
Pull the Scard and relocate in another slot

Repeat until IRQ is allocated, or at least not shared with something heavy like the AGP
