i just got all the parts for my new comupter and built it last night. this is my first computer to build and im kind of scared its not working. but i have two problems with my computer, both are when it starts up.

First one is when i first turn it on i hear a long beep(sounds nasty) and then it turns off after a second and starts up. i looked inside and when it beeps my cpu fan isnt turning, it will start to turn about a 1/4 turn, stop, then start normally. I have a 500w PSU so that should be more than enough to power everything.

Second is everytime i start it up, i see the Gigabyte menu thing where it has choices like tab for post screen del for bios and end for q-flash. if i hit tab or just leave it it will carry on and show the screen where it checks the ram and hard drives and such(dont know the term for that screen), but it will hang really bad at that screen, about 30 seconds or so, then it will go to a similar screen where it checks the pci(not sure exaclty what it was) but at that screen it wil hang really bad too. then it will try to "boot from CD/DVD" even if there isnt one in the drive(ive changed the boot order and switched it up a bunch). then it hangs more once it says that. then finally it will boot to windows and everything looks fine and works and is regonized in windows/bios. ive install the drivers for my MB and they installed fine.

sorry for such a long post, i tried to be as descriptive as possible.
thanks.

CPU:Core 2 Duo E6750
MB: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA
GFX:ATi Radeon HD 3850
Memory: G.Skill (2x2GB) DDR2 1000

i just flashed the bios it said it worked and im still having the same problems. and im also having trouble getting to windows now. even if theres no cd in the drive it will still try to boot from it(even when i completely take it off of the boot order) and it will just freeze up at that point. i can boot from a cd and the only way i used to be able to get to windows was just to not hit anything when it said "press any key to continue" but now it just keeps repeating that and wont go to windows. i am really confused.
