*FIXED* The 6800 "lines" problem in fullscreen video.

I just got a new 6800 and now whenever I try to play a video (mpg, DVD, avi, quicktime, any video format) at fullscreen (with WMP, PowerDVD, TV Tuner, anything) the video looks like it hasn't been deinterlaced and has lines all over it.

1. Picture of the left edge of my monitor.

Are these the same lines that you guys are talking about? I've tried everything short of a video card swap. Returned clock speeds to stock. Un-did the softmods, want back to older drivers (66.81), tried the most recent Omega drivers, tried the most recent detonators, upgraded mobo drivers and WDM drivers, and still, nothing.

This error occurs only during fullscreen of video, not of games or pictures. I have found that it starts to happen at around ~90% fullscreen if I manually resize the viewing window.

The only temporary fix that I've found that works is to disable hardware video overlay. Out of all my media players, only Winamp has the option to disable it (general prefs>video>advanced vid options>uncheck allow hardware video overlay). This means that other file formats like DVD, Quicktime, and TV do not benefit because they use different players.

That is all. Is this the same problem that everyone else is having? I have a feeling that mine might be the worst considering that others only seem to have trouble with DVDs, and I have trouble with everything.

Input is appreciated.

I just tried those drivers. Still no go 🙁

I'm getting an error in device manager that says my WDM video capture is returning an error code 10 (failed to start). WTF?

I'm seriously just thinking about contacting PNY and having them send me a new card.

Sadly, I know what error code 10 is....the 6800U doesnt have WDM capture stuff, so you've basically installed a driver for something thatd oesnt exist...just go and remove the drivers for that, but leave the videocard drivers themselves alone...hope this helps

Aye, that was what I was thinking. My 6800U does not have VIVO, but oddly enough there are 4 WDM things, and 3 of them are up and running apparently except for that video capture 😕

Any more ideas on the "lines" issue? There should be more people out there with this situation...

yes, I do remember that, 4 worked, on was a code 10....odd thing is, the card does have a S-video in...I really think this card was and uderthought card, pushed through early with bugs, which makes it seem like a POS. Just look at all the threads about it locking up. I had to overclock my 2d settings to get rid of lockups....

Bsics here, sorry, but gotta do em: reseat the card, clean off all dust, clean out the whole comp, make sure mem is fine, etc, reinstall drivers (first wipe them out with a driver cleaner...I forget the names of the good ones) and reinstall nvDVD or whatever you use. I doubt this will help, but I am always surpised

this will sound VERY weird, but is the moniter ok????? Don't know why itd work sometimes and not others, but its a shot?

Thanks for the suggestions, but someone at Guru3D gave me a tip after having the same exact problem.

Downloaded the 65.73 drivers.

And now I've got a perfectly functional 6800 with 16 pipelines and 6vp 🙂

i just posted the same problem about 10 hours ago here. I fixes it by installing 67.+drivers

Now I just have a prolem with videos being bad quality with big pixels
