I noticed this about 3 days ago.....

Microsoft MN-700 Router hardwired into the cable modem and my rig. My website (and subsequenly every other site hosted on the same server) stopped responding. Some examples: http://www.aphexii.com, http://www.revolutionhost.com, http://www.ossenbeck.com

Checked all the settings, firewall, IE, Firefox etc... everything seemed fine...

So i unplugged myself from the router and ran the ethernet cable from my rig directly into the cable modem. Repair connection. Tada, everything works again.

Bad router i think. Ok, so i went out today and bought a new one (D-Link DI-624). Repair connection once connected, bam. Nothing again.

Flushed DNS, checked the settings, repaired connection again, nothing. I seem to be able to get to every site EXCEPT anything hosted on the same server as mine (as far as i can tell).

Just to check, i bypassed the router again and it works...

WTF is going on? If it helps any, i either get the alert "www.aphexii.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again." or the MSN search page.

What happens if you try to reach the server via IP address only?

Try out [L]http://67.18.35.13/[/L]

Lovely, i called D-Link and RR

RR: Sorry, if it works plugged directly into the cable modem, there is nothing else we can do.
D-Link: Sorry, if you are able to connect to the internet, it must be the website, not the router.

Grrrrrr

EDIT: I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But can someone explain to me WTF it worked?

I dropped the MTU down by 10 at a time (default was 1500, i dropped it to 1480) and it works perfectly....

What changed that would make it need to drop?
